At 09:24 the GFC received a dispatch to the report of “wires in trees burning”. Brush 55, along with Leesport Brush 37, responded to the call.
Upon arrival the Brush 55 crew found a high voltage wire in the 1300 block of Cross Keys Road was shorting out onto a tree limb causing sparks and flames. The crew notified Met-Ed and guided traffic around the scene. Shortly thereafter Met-Ed had de-energized the line and the tree fire had self-extinguished.
Once it was established that there was no danger to passing motorists and property, the GFC crew returned to the Station.
