On Monday morning, April 4th at 02:10, the GFC received a dispatch to assist Mt. Pleasant Co. 30 with a structure fire in Penn Township. The initial call reported the fire on Ziegler Rd., however it was later discovered that the fire was in the 100 block of Tobias Rd.
E55 arrived on scene at 02:26 and found Mt. Pleasant Co. 30 attacking a residential storage shed fire located at the end of a long driveway off of Tobias Rd. The approximately 400 square foot storage shed that at this point was almost completely destroyed. Co. 30 Command requested that GFC manpower report to the fire scene immediately to assist.
Due to lack of hydrants at the location, GFC Chief Brian Fisher positioned E55 in the residence’s driveway behind apparatus from Mt. Pleasant Co. 30 and Bernville Co. 29 in order to supply water to Quint 30.
Crews battled the fire for about 25 minutes until it was declared out by Co. 30 command. The GFC Crew was released around 03:00 and returned to the GFC Station.
Damage estimates were not immediately available and no one was injured fighting the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
