On Tuesday, May 8th, at 18:06, Station 55 was dispatched to the report of an MVA with injuries on southbound Rt. 183 at the exit to southbound Rt. 222.
Upon arrival the Engine 55 crew found that a Chevy full size pick-up truck had rear ended a Honda CR-V. Both vehicles were in the number 1 lane. Mt. Pleasant Rescue 30 was already on scene and was tending to the driver, and lone occupant of the CR-V, who was complaining of neck pain. The driver and lone occupant of the pick-up was unhurt.
A Northern Berks Medical Services ambulance arrived shortly thereafter to transport the patient to a local area hospital for treatment. The GFC crew assisted with patient extraction.
Bern Township Fire Police directed traffic around the scene until the vehicles involved were cleared from the roadway.
