On Monday, December 12th @ 17:52, the GFC received a dispatch to assist Mt. Pleasant Rescue 30 with a single vehicle MVA. A van was on its roof on southbound Rt. 183 in front of the Blue Marsh Italian Restaurant. E55 responded with a crew of 4.
Upon arrival, Co. 30 Command requested that E55 close northbound Rt. 183 at Bern Church, and divert traffic on to Plum Creek Rd. until fire police could arrive. Utility 55 arrived shortly thereafter with a crew of 2 to augment traffic control operations.
Once Bern Twp. Fire Police Lt. Jeff Allen arrived, traffic control was turned over to him. Fire Police qualified crew members consisting of Asst. Chief Royce and FF Heckman remained on scene with U55 to assist Fire Police Lt. Jeff Allen with traffic control. The rest of the GFC crew were released and returned to the Station.
GFC personnel were later informed that there was one person injured in the incident and was transported to a local area hospital by Schuylkill Valley EMS.
