The Greenfields Fire Co. was dispatched to assist Goodwill Co. 10 with a second alarm structure fire Friday evening.
Upon arrival the Greenfields crew found a single family structure in the 600 block of Cody Dr. in Muhlenberg Township had experienced a fire. The fire had started in a second floor bedroom.
Crews already on scene had the fire extinguished and assigned the GFC crew to the manpower pool. Soon afterward, the GFC crew was relocated to cover the Goodwill Co. 10 Station while their crew conducted overhaul at the fire scene. GFC was released from stand-by duty shortly after midnight.
No firefighters were injured during the incident; however one resident suffered burns and smoke inhalation, and was transported to the Reading Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the fire, and property damage estimates are unavailable.
