At 14:21 on Monday, January 30th, the GFC, along with Bernville Co. 29, received a dispatch to assist Mt. Pleasant Co. 30 with a structure fire on Davis Bridge Rd. in Penn Township.
Upon arrival at 14:48, the E55 crew found a small chicken coop involved in fire behind a residential structure at the end of a long driveway. GFC Chief Brian Fisher parked E55 at the end of the driveway, the closest place to access the fire, and deployed all 300 feet of E55’s booster reel to in order to reach the incident. After a few minutes, and a few hundred gallons of water, the fire was out.
The chicken coop was destroyed along with some wooden fencing and a few scorched trees. No surrounding structures were involved, and no estimate of damage was available. The cause of the fire is unknown.
After a final check for any smoldering and hidden embers the crews were released by Mt. Pleasant Co. 30 Command to return to their stations.
