Early on Wednesday evening, October 26th, the GFC received a dispatch for an MVA, with entrapment, on southbound Rt. 222 near the Rt.183 off ramp.
Engine 55 arrived to find 2 vehicles, a Chrysler Town and country van and a BMW were involved in a collision, however there was no entrapment. There were also no injuries sustained by either vehicle’s occupants.
Both vehicles were parked on right shoulder and out of traffic. Engine 55 parked across the number 2 lane to create a buffer zone around the scene so that GFC personnel could assumed traffic control and clean-up duties.
Damage to Chrysler van was limited to the right rear quarter panel, but the BMW, which had struck the right shoulder guard rail, was severely damaged.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Bern Twp. Police.
