At 12:27, on Sunday, February 19th, the GFC, along with Mt. Pleasant Co. 30 and Leesport Co. 37, received a dispatch for a brush fire at a residence in the 1500 block of West Leesport Rd.
Upon arrival, GFC firefighters found a brush fire had started from a controlled burn in the back yard of a residence at 1574 West Leesport Road. Leesport Co. 37 was already on scene and knocked down the fire before it could spread to a wooded area behind the residence.
The GFC crew, using hand tools, proceeded to check for hot spots while Co. 37 applied a good soaking to the burned area of grass and charred tree stump.
No structures were involved and the only damage to the property was a scorched rear lawn.
Companies were released around 13:00.
